Tottenham Hotspur are in the hunt for Dinamo Zagreb attacker Luka Stojkovic, as Daniel Levy and Co. look to bolster the forward department.
A new attacker is a priority for the Lilywhites owing to the uncertain futures of Son Heung-min and Richarlison. Both Son and Richarlison could be cashed in at the end of the season, while Timo Werner will return to RB Leipzig once his loan expires in June. In addition, Brennan Johnson and James Maddison’s performances have been far from consistent since the turn of the year, leading the Spurs chiefs to seek a new attacker.
Now, Tottenham are reportedly set to battle it out with Bayern Munich for the signing of Luka Stojkovic, who has enjoyed a fine season at Dinamo Zagreb. The young Croat has scored four goals and supplied three assists in 17 league games thus far, while demonstrating his versatility by operating on the left flank and as a No.10. The likes of Atletico Madrid, AC Milan and Napoli are also keeping tabs on Dinamo Zagreb talent.
Dinamo Zagreb talent Luka Stojkovic wanted by Tottenham
There could be wholesale changes to the Tottenham squad after a disastrous season. Ange Postecoglou’s side currently lie 14th in the Premier League table and have been eliminated from both domestic cup competitions. The only chance the Australian manager has to salvage the season to some extent is by winning the Europa League, and of course, keep his job at N17.
Mathys Tel was signed on loan from Bayern during the winter transfer window to strengthen the forward line that was hit by several injuries. Spurs do have an option to sign him permanently but going by initial impressions, the club may not decide to trigger Tel’s buy clause. Moreover, should the likes of Son and Richarlison leave, the Spurs boss would need adequate replacements in his roster.
Burgeoning talent Luka Stojkovic has caught the attention of Tottenham. The North London club have focused on recruiting young talents with huge potential in the last few years, and at 21, Stojkovic fits the criteria perfectly. Due to his ability to play out wide and as a No.10, he’d also bring tactical flexibility to the Spurs side as well as enhance the depth of the squad.
While several European clubs are said to like the Croatian starlet, Tottenham are very much in the conversation for him. They have closely followed Stojkovic this season and could make a move for him in the summer.
