Cooper, who replaced Enzo Maresca in June, was given his marching orders soon after Saturday’s 2-1 defeat to Chelsea at the King Power Stadium.
He leaves the club 16th in the Premier League after 12 games – two points above the relegation zone.
Cooper is the second manager to be sacked in the Premier League this season following Manchester United parting company with Erik ten Hag in October.
