FORMER Brentford striker Ivan Toney has been recalled to the England squad.
The 29-year-old has impressed Three Lions manager Thomas Tuchel in his first season for Al-Ahli in the Saudi Pro League.
And now the Athletic has reported that he will be called up to the squad today.
Toney last played for England at Euro 2024 and provided the assist for Harry Kane’s extra-time winner against Slovakia in the knockout stages.
He made three appearances at the major tournament, all from the bench, and played 42 minutes in total.
The striker completed a £40million move to Al-Ahli on transfer deadline day last summer after being linked with several Premier League clubs.
Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United were all understood to be considering a move.
However, the Saudi club tabled the winning bid at the last minute.
