Three Lions skipper Kane, 31, came deep to collect the ball.

As he passed it off to a team-mate, the Bayern Munich striker became unhappy with the close attention he was receiving from Molumby.

With the West Brom midfielder having grabbed the England man, Kane shoved him off.

Molumby, 25, went down theatrically and appeared to grab at his face.

As the referee had a word with Kane, his team-mate Walker pulled Molumby back to his feet.

The matter was then resolved by the ref, who booked both Kane and Molumby.

Fans loved Walker’s response to the incident.

One wrote on X: “That’s a perfect analogy for Walker’s calm yet dominant moment #ENGIRE.

“It’s always amusing when a player handles a situation with such ease that it looks like they’re dealing with a playful child..”

While a second joked: “Walker picking up Molumby like it’s his son throwing a tantrum because you won’t buy him any sweets at the shop.”

A third similarly chimed: “Walker picking up Molumby like we all have when our kids throw a tantrum in the supermarket.”

And another added: “Molumby’s highlight of his career, will be throwing a fit whilst being cradled by Kyle Walker embarrassing.”

At the time of the incident, the score was level at 0-0.

But things deteriorated for Ireland after the break.

Shortly after half-time, Celtic centre-back Liam Scales was shown a second yellow card after giving away a penalty.

Kane calmly converted the 53rd minute spot kick, and things soon got even worse for Ireland.

Anthony Gordon doubled his side’s lead barely two minutes later, before Conor Gallagher added a third before the hour-mark.

Jarrod Bowen put further gloss on England’s win by making it 4-0 on 76 minutes.

And Taylor Harwood-Bellis added a fifth shortly after.
