CRISTIANO RONALDO has released an emotional statement after reaching one billion followers on social media.
The Portuguese superstar, 39, has achieved the feat across his various online platforms – Instagram, Facebook, X and more.

It comes after he recently started his own YouTube channel – which has racked up more than 60 million subscribers in less than a month.
Ronaldo celebrated reaching the 10-figure milestone with a heartfelt message to his fans.
He opened up about the journey he has gone on from the streets of Portugal to one of the most famous people in the world.
He said: “We’ve made history — 1 BILLION followers!
“This is more than just a number – it’s a testament to our shared passion, drive, and love for the game and beyond.
“From the streets of Madeira to the biggest stages in the world, I’ve always played for my family and for you, and now 1 billion of us stand together.
“You’ve been with me every step of the way, through all the highs and the lows.
“This journey is our journey, and together, we’ve shown that there are no limits to what we can achieve.

Ronaldo made headlines earlier this week after discussing the current situation at Manchester United on Rio Ferdinand’s channel.
He said: “As I told you, Manchester, they need to rebuild everything, in my opinion.
“The coach, they say they cannot compete to win the league and Champions League.
“(As) Manchester United coach, you cannot say that you’re not going to fight to win the League or Champions League.
“You have to be, to mentally say, listen, maybe we don’t have that potential, but I cannot say that. We’re going to try. You have to try.”
In response, Ten Hag said: “He [Ronaldo] said that Manchester United can’t win the Premier League. He said this if you read the article very well.
“He’s far away in Saudi, far away from Manchester. Everyone can have an opinion. It’s okay.
“[It] doesn’t impact me, I know in the process where we are, where we’re going.”
