Cole Palmer enjoyed a remarkable breakout season at Chelsea last season following his £40m move from Manchester City.

The 22-year-old scored 25 goals in his first 12 months at Stamford Bridge and that form saw him being awarded the Premier League Young Player of the Season. The forward was included in Gareth Southgate’s England squad for 2024 Euro in Germany. He impacted games off the bench in the tournament as the Three Lions fell to a 2-1 defeat to Spain in the Euro 2024 final.

Cole Palmer has already enhanced his status as one of the best players in the Premier League this term. He has netted six goals and supplied five assists in seven Premier League games, including netting four times in Chelsea’s 4-2 home win over Brighton before the October international break.

The England international has won the Premier League Player of the Month award for September for his excellent form, helping Enzo Maresca’s side slightly recover from a difficult start to the campaign. After receiving the POTM for September, Palmer was asked a Fill in the Blanks question in an exclusive interview with the club.

The Interviewer: “Fill in the Blank. So, Cole Palmer and someone has created 15 chances for each other in the Premier League this season, the most by any duo. Who is that player?”

Palmer: “Don’t know. I am stuck between two. Jackson and Noni. Noni?”

The Interviewer: “Why’s that?”

Palmer: “Because we are different players, aren’t we? He likes to run, I like to pass.”

The Interviewer: “So you say you complement each other well?”

Palmer: “Yeah. I think so.”

After his initial struggles with consistency and injury problems, Noni Madueke has slowly become an important player for the Pensioners. He was largely in and out of the team in the first part of last season under former boss Mauricio Pochettino but picked up form later and finished the term strongly.

Palmer and Madueke have built a strong relationship on the pitch since last July and 15 chances created for each other is a further proof to that. Maresca and the fans will be hoping their relationship continues to blossom in the weeks and months ahead, as Chelsea look to climb up the table.
