What Maresca said about Palmer
Just over two hours to kick-off tonight, and here is what Enzo Maresca said on the doubtful Cole Palmer this week in is pre-match press conference.
Maresca said: “Cole [Palmer] was the ankle.
“We rely on Cole because he is a big player. We prefer to play with Cole for sure, 100 per cent.
“But if he has an injury, we are going to find a different solution.”
Wiley recalled
Another squad update for the Blues, they should be used to it by now.
Various reports are citing that American left back Caleb Wiley is set to be recalled from his loan spell at Strasbourg due to injury.
Wiley, 19, was singned for £8.5 million in the summer from Atlanta United on a six-year contract before being loaned out to France.
Injuries have hampered chances for development, with only seven appearances for the Ligue 1 side, with the latest expected to be shoulder related.
Chelsea receive PGMOL apology
According to head coach Enzo Maresca, Chelsea received a written apology from the Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL) due to a denial of penalty.
In a report published by The Athletic, they claim that Maresca was referring to the 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace at the start of the year.
Pedro Neto would go down in the box with the recovering Tyrick Mitchell onrushing. Despite strong claims, the referee and VAR waved away any potential foul.
The report further added that the PGMOL deny Maresca’s allegation regarding an apology.
