Chelsea have expressed a shock interest in Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho.
The Argentinean international, 20, has been on the radar of Napoli since the start of the winter transfer window. In fact, Manchester United recently rejected a €50m offer from Napoli, who view the Spain-born talent as their top target to replace Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. The Red Devils’ poor financial situation means that any serious offers for any player of the senior squad will be considered.
Chelsea have reportedly made an enquiry for Alejandro Garnacho, perhaps in the wake of Mykhaylo Mudryk’s provisional suspension by the FA. Man United are understood to be unwilling to part ways with the young winger, unless their £60million valuation is met in this transfer window.
Since making his first-team debut in 2022, Garnacho has racked up 117 appearances. He has netted 23 goals, including eight strikes in 31 appearances this season thus far. The Spain-born talent is slowly adapting to the tactical demands of new boss Ruben Amorim’s 3-4-2-1 system at Old Trafford, delivering some big moments in recent games against Liverpool and Arsenal.

It wouldn’t be a January transfer window without Chelsea doing some high-profile business and they are once again being linked with several players. Enzo Maresca is keen to strengthen his squad, with wide players looked at by the club’s top brass.
Alejandro Garnacho has emerged as a target for the Blues, who are seemingly preparing for Mudryk’s potential lengthy ban. Chelsea would have to pay up around £60m to get Garnacho in January, as United are unlikely to budge on that price as witnessed by them rebuffing Napoli’s offer.
The 20-year-old winger, under contract until 2028 and well settled at Old Trafford, is considered one of the club’s best young players. So, it is quite obvious for the Mancunian giants to ask for a premium for his signature.
Thus, the Pensioners have to splash the cash in order to sign Garnacho, who also continues to be on the radars of Juventus and Bayern Munich.
