Best dressed players at 2024 Ballon d'Or ceremony

The 2024 Ballon d’Or ceremony brought drama and controversy, but most importantly it allowed us to peer into some of our favourite footballers’ wardrobes.

Manchester City midfielder Rodri clinched his first ever Ballon d’Or on a night where Real Madrid refused to send anyone from the club after learning that Vinicius Junior would not be returning home with silverware. Whereas Aitana Bonmati thought 2023 was so nice she had to do it twice, winning back-to-back Ballon d’Or Feminin trophies.

We may have been robbed of any Madrid outfits in Paris, but we were treated to an array of chic, sleek fits from players across world football.

But who dressed to impress at the Ballon d’Or? 90min rank the best dressed ballers in Paris.

Alejandro Garnach

Okay, we saw all the comments online about how this Manchester United star turned up in his dad’s suit – but let’s not get it twisted, this guy rocks an oversized fit.

There’s been a distinct incline in baggy suits over the last few years, with the runway often a place to see relaxed silhouettes and wide-leg trousers. Oversized and underworked is the style of the moment. We see you, Garnacho.

The Red Devil turned up in Paris and claimed 6th place in the Kopa Trophy standings – what a night!

Arsenal’s number 8 finished eighth in the standings of the Ballon d’Or and made sure to make an impression with her arrival outfit.

Her sleek blue shirt and trousers shone under the flash of nearby cameras, while her matching shirt added the perfect finishing touch to this relaxed, yet classy vibe.

Paired with a long gold necklace, Caldenty wore the perfect fit to watch her Spain teammate claim the Ballon d’Or Feminin.

A white suit from Didier Drogba? Yes please.

The Chelsea legend donned his style on the red carpet, suiting up in a smart white number before finishing his look with a black bow tie.

It’s complimentary, stylish and trendy – everything we expect from the former striker.

A velvet moment on the Ballon d’Or red carpet? Oh Harry, you do know how to spoil us!

The Bayern Munich star strode out in a beautifully tailored suit before picking up the Gerd Muller Trophy for bagging 52 goals for club and country during 2023/24.

The combo of navy blue velvet blazer and sleek black trousers has fans from Germany to north London in awe. Also, if you’re looking for an excuse not to wear a full length tie, a bow tie never misses.

If you don’t know this baller’s game then get to know. Ronwen Williams arrived in Paris wearing a beautifully unique black suit with white patterning down the side of his sleeve.

The South African goalkeeper was the first to be nominated for the Yashin Trophy while playing for a club in Africa – making history as well as waves in the French capital.

He finished ninth in the Yashin Trophy standings but continues to challenge expectations and put his club and country on the map. It’s 10/10 from us, Ronwen.

Roma defender Mats Hummels and model girlfriend Nicola Cavanis stole the show on Monday night, perfectly complimenting each other in stylish, well planned outfits.

Hummels followed suit with the luxury bow tie option to pair with his slick black attire, whereas Cavanis pulled on a long, glistening dress. They both looked the part as they strolled towards the red carpet hand-in-hand – becoming the it couple of the night.

It was the perfect comeback from Hummels, who scored an own goal just minutes into his Roma debut on Sunday.

Ademola Lookman, the man that you are.

This Nigerian king pulled out all the stops when he pulled up in Paris as the only African player to be nominated for the 2024 Ballon d’Or. If his 17 goals for Atalanta weren’t enough last season, the former Charlton boy continues to impress with his footballing ability, finishing 14th in the Ballon d’Or standings.

The sky is the limit for Lookman. Watch this space.

At just 17 years old, Lamine Yamal demands attention when he strolls on to a red carpet. His presence, aura and greatness make him a feared name in the football world, while also making him impossible not to love.

The Barcelona wonderkid was named the best youngster in the world at the ceremony, turning up in a full black suit after thrashing Real Madrid 4-0 in El Clasico at the weekend.

It’s been a whirlwind year for Yamal, but this future Ballon d’Or winner is just getting started.

The French midfielder looked confident and suave as he posed for photographers before being named as the eighth-best young player in the world.

The Paris academy graduate has a promising future in Ligue 1 and could easily pick up the senior prize in the future.

There was only ever going to be one name at the top of this list.

Barcelona midfielder Bonmati claimed her back-to-back Ballon d’Or trophy on Monday wearing a jaw-dropping white dress that drooped to the floor beyond her stunning black heels.

A dress fit for a queen, and who more deserving than the queen of world football. Those stunning silver earrings added the perfect final touch too.

We love it, Bonmati. Drop the name of your stylist please.
