Good evening everybody and welcome along to this MARCA in English live blog to take you through the highly anticipated Ballon d’Or 2024 ceremony in Paris.
The Ballon d’Or is an esteemed individual award in the world of football, established by France Football magazine in 1956, and one that has been dominated by Leo Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo in the last 15 years or so. This time, however, there will be a different winner, with Manchester City’s Rodri and Real Madrid’s Vinicius the favourites.
Jude Bellingham is also expected to be high up on the list, although the midfielder may just fall short after a terrific campaign for club and country.
In the women’s category, among the most popular names are Barcelona players Caroline Graham Hansen, Salma Paralluelo, Patri Guijarro and, once again, Aitana Bonmatí.
