Arsenal table Gyokeres contract offer
Arsenal have reportedly tabled a “formal offer” for Viktor Gyokeres.
Correio da Manha claim the north Londoners have tabled an offer in the region of £62million for the Sweden international.
The Gunners are also said to have sent a contract offer to Gyokeres’ agent after meeting him at the women’s Champions League final last weekend.
A five-year deal with an annual salary of £5.8m – which narrowly eclipses that received by outgoing Gunners defender Kieran Tierney – has reportedly been put on the table for Gyokeres.
Arteta’s wife on their happy marriage
Lorena Bernal has opened up on the secrets behind her happy marriage with Mikel Arteta.
She told Hello!: “There isn’t just one secret to our marriage, but I’d say it’s important to understand and to accept that you’re two individuals sharing a life, not completing each other.
“You’re not there to teach them how to live; you’re there to grow next to them and support their growth. But you need to accept that each person has their own rhythms, pace and journey, and that acceptance makes it amazing.
“And of course, there’s the love underneath it, the foundation of admiration, respect for the other person… and having fun together.
“When we have time together, we do pretty normal things, because our life is the opposite of normal. So we go for a walk or we sit and have coffee. Doing nothing together is beautiful.”
Sesko shares his transfer thoughts
Arsenal and Chelsea target Benjamin Sesko claims he wants to play for a club that can bring the “best” out of him as he weighs up a summer transfer.
He said: “The club has given me a lot and continues to give me a lot every day. It’s a great club to develop at.” Sesko also added that in the future, he wants to “play for a club that suits me, that brings out the best in me. That’s the most important thing for me.
“I’m currently a player for RB Leipzig, so I’m taking it day by day. If a transfer happens, and if it doesn’t, then it doesn’t.”
Lewis-Skelly contract talks stumble
Arsenal’s contract talks with Lewis-Skelly have ‘not been going well’, according to The Guardian’s Jonathan Wilson.
Wilson said: “I think they need a holding midfielder especially if Thomas Partey leaves which seems likely-ish, or certainly a strong possibility.
“They need someone to sit next to Declan Rice — he’s best when he’s got a bit of freedom to get forward.
“They’ve got to sort out Myles Lewis-Skelly’s contract which expires next summer and I think talks have not been going well from what I hear and Real Madrid are sort of sniffing around there.
“Imagine Real Madrid wanting a highly-rated Premier League fullback for free, almost unimaginable isn’t it?”
