Key man Bukayo Saka is set for an extended period on the sidelines after picking up a hamstring injury in the win over Crystal Palace.

And although Gabriel Jesus has rediscovered his goalscoring touch, Arsenal are in need of more firepower up-front.

According to talkSPORT they are targeting Ferguson in a potential January deal.

The striker has struggled for fitness this year and has been limited to just 12 Premier League appearances, scoring once.

He has found himself down in the pecking order behind Danny Welbeck, Joao Pedro and Georginio Rutter.

Ferguson, has also attracted interest from West Ham and Fulham, who could look to strike a loan deal this month.

Brighton boss Fabian Hurzeler recently admitted the club is looking for the “right solution” for the striker.

He said: “At first, I think he needs to get back on the pitch.
