Henderson made a string of brilliant saves as Palace lifted a first-ever major domestic trophy.

The 28-year-old stopper was lucky to avoid a red card after appearing to handle outside the box in the first half.

Erling Haaland looked to be in on goal, but Henderson batted the ball away from the striker before he could go round him.

VAR deemed the offence was not the denial of a clear goalscoring opportunity.

As a result, the original on-field decision of no free kick or card for Henderson was upheld.

A fuming Guardiola appeared to make a beeline for the ex-Manchester United keeper after the game.

The pair were caught by TV cameras exchanging heated words on the Wembley pitch.

But Henderson revealed it wasn’t the earlier incident on Guardiola’s mind.

Henderson told ITV: “I just want to shake his hand.

“But I think he was disappointed with the time wasting.

“I said, ‘You got the ten minutes you wanted’. There’s no hard feelings.”

Coaches from both benches clashed at Wembley as tempers flared in the second half.

Officials added 13 minutes at the end of the contest.

But despite dominating possession, City were unable to find a way past an inspired Henderson in the Palace goal.

CRYSTAL PALACE secured their first ever trophy with a famous FA Cup final victory over Manchester City.

The keeper dedicated the FA Cup triumph to his dad Dougie, who passed away last year.

He continued: “It’s why I left (Man Utd), it’s what I set out to do.

“But honestly I lost my dad at the start of the season and I’ll miss him here today.

“He was with me every kick of the ball today and I dedicate that win to him.”
