The former Man Utd favourite is now playing back in his homeland

The diminutive forward signed for the Red Devils in 2010 after playing for his country at the World Cup in South Africa,

Despite having to compete with the likes of Wayne Rooney, Dimitar Berbatov and Michael Owen for game time, the 5ft 9in star more than held his own.

The Mexican star scored 20 times in all competitions during his first season, proving to be quite the fox in the box.

His exploits helped Man Utd claim the Premier League title that year, finishing nine points above the chasing pack.

Tallies of 12 and 18 would follow in the next two years, with the Red Devils winning their last Prem title to date in 2013.

Following Sir Alex Ferguson‘s departure, the nippy striker’s importance began to wane, and following a loan away in 2014-15, the former Fergie favourite was on his way.

In case you haven’t got it yet, the player in question is… Javier Hernandez.

Often known as Chicharito, Hernandez scored 59 goals in 157 games for Man Utd.

Ahead of Guadalajara’s clash with Monterrey on Sunday, Hernandez chatted with Sergio Ramos in the tunnel.

The pair played together at Real Madrid during the 2014-15 campaign, with Hernandez scoring nine goals for Los Blancos on loan from Man Utd.

Ramos, 39, made his former team-mate laugh in the tunnel, before they embraced ahead of lining up with their respective teams.

The centre-back was on the winning side, with Monterrey coming out on top 3-1.

Hernandez left United for Bayer Leverkusen in 2015, going on to score 39 times in 76 games for the Bundesliga side.

The former Stretford End favourite then returned to England with West Ham, netting 17 times across two seasons.

Following half a season with Sevilla, Hernandez moved to LA Galaxy, where he would continue to be prolific in front of goal.

He then completed an emotional return to Guadalajara last year, even captaining them on occasion.
