JONJO SHELVEY has completed a shock transfer to the Championship after his spell in Turkey.
The midfielder has spent the previous two years at Caykur Rizespor and Eyupspor after leaving Nottingham Forest.
Shelvey, 32, has signed a deal at Burnley that will run until the end of the season.
He has completed the move on a free transfer having seen his contract at Eyupspor ripped up.
After arriving at Turf Moore, he said: “It feels amazing to get it done.
“It’s been quite a long process, but it’s all done now and I’m excited for it.
“I like the club as a whole, every time I have played against Burnley at Turf Moor it’s been tough.
“But I’m part of this team now and my aim is to do my best to help this club get back into the Premier League, where it belongs.”
The former England international will be hoping to help the Clarets win promotion back to the Premier League.
Scott Parker‘s side are currently third in the Championship and are just three points behind leaders Leeds United.
