Marcus Rashford looks increasingly likely to leave Manchester United in 2025.
The England international has expressed his desire of a move away from Old Trafford, stating that he is ready for a “new challenge and the next steps” in a candid interview with reputed journalist Henry Winter. The forward’s comments came just a day after he was dropped for the Manchester Derby due to his training performances.
The 27-year-old is into his ninth senior season with his boyhood club but things have not worked out for him in the last two years. Although new Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim has said Marcus Rashford is a part of the squad and could have a future at the club, it’s widely accepted now that he will leave in a permanent deal at the end of the season amid interest from the cash-rich Saudi Pro League.
However, Barcelona have reportedly contacted the Red Devils over a loan move for their star forward in January. Rashford is a player the Catalan giants have admired for some time, and president Joan Laporta is keen to take advantage of his situation at Old Trafford and bring him to the club.

Barcelona have started making plans to sign Rashford on loan from Manchester United for the second half of the season. The loan deal would include a buy option in the summer.
The Blaugrana have put a £35 million proposal across the table, which Man United are supposedly yet to respond. However, the Premier League giants have informed Rashford’s entourage about Barcelona’s interest in signing the player.
Rashford finds himself out of Ruben Amorim’s project at Man United. The Wythenshawe-born talent has not even made the squad for the last two matches against Man City and Tottenham, while it would be a surprise if he were to feature against Bournemouth at Old Trafford on Sunday. The 20-time English champions are determined to offload the Englishman in a bid to balance their books and comply with the Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR), as well as reshape the squad in the image of Amorim.
While Man United are apparently ready to make discounts over a loan fee to facilitate a January move, Rashford’s eye-watering £300,000 gross per week could prove to be a stumbling block for Barcelona. Nonetheless, the England international is keen to move to Spain to rebuild his career and Barcelona are enticed by the idea of signing him.
