Tottenham Hotspur are showing an interest in Real Valladolid winger Raul Moro ahead of a possible January move.
The Lilywhites backed Ange Postecoglou in the summer transfer window, bringing in a few prodigious talents as well as breaking the transfer record to sign Dominic Solanke from Bournemouth. However, results have been far from desired as Spurs lie seventh in the Premier League table.
As a result, Ange Postecoglou is planning to make further alterations to his squad when the transfer window reopens in January. Now, Tottenham have reportedly started sending their scouts to run the rule over Real Valladolid star Raul Moro. The Spain Under-21 winger could be available for a paltry £9 million in the January transfer window, but Spurs could face competition from domestic rivals Liverpool.
Moro, 21, played a key role in helping Valladolid achieve promotion to La Liga in May. Since Valladolid’s promotion, the winger has been among their best performers in the top flight. He has scored three goals and supplied an assist in 14 La Liga appearances thus far, thereby, catching the attention of Spurs scouts.
Tottenham’s wide options have been depleted due to injuries
A lot of Spurs’ inconsistent start to the season has been down to injuries to key players. As far as the wide department is concerned, Wilson Odobert, Richarlison and Mikey Moore are all currently sidelined. Son Heung-min has visited the treatment room a few times this season, while on-loan Timo Werner continues to disappoint the White Hart Lane supporters.
Thus, a new wide player would help if Daniel Levy and Johan Lange manage to get in January, with Moro being identified as one of the top targets.
The Valladolid man can operate on both flanks, and he would bring dynamism, flair and creative spark to the Tottenham attack. He has shown flashes of his rich potential in La Liga this season, and a talent like the Spaniard can thrive under Big Ange’s watchful eyes.
At 21, Moro has a lot to improve before he unlocks his true potential. He has the qualities to flourish in Tottenham’s high-intensity, pressing football, whilst competing with the likes of Son, Werner, Johnson and Odobert.
Valued at just £9 million, the Lilywhites must beat Liverpool to Moro’s signature in January.
