Everton, Fulham and Manchester United keen on Fluminense forward Kaua Elias

Premier League trio Everton, Fulham and Manchester United are embroiled in a transfer race to sign Fluminense’s hot talent Kaua Elias.

A product of the famed Fluminense academy, Kaua Elias, 18, has emerged as one of the most prodigious talents in South American football in recent years. The centre-forward has made a telling impression on the team since making his senior debut in 2023. He has registered six goals and an assist in 35 appearances, producing the goods consistently in the final third.

Elias’ performances have sparked interest from multiple clubs across Europe including Napoli and Bayer Leverkusen. Everton, Fulham and Man United remain keen on the Brazilian starlet, who reportedly has an exit clause of €30million. He could leave in the winter transfer market but Fluminense are expected to block any potential move to Europe.

To start off with Everton, the inconsistency of Beto coupled with Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s poor fitness record have put them into a position where signing a quality forward is an absolute must. Sean Dyche simply cannot lean on Beto and Calvert-Lewin, especially on latter, for a regular supply of goals if his side are to stay away from the relegation zone.

As for Fulham, Raul Jimenez and Rodrigo Muniz have proven their ability to score goals in the Premier League. However, beyond the duo, Marco Silva lacks depth and variety in the striker department. A player in the ilk of Elias could give the Cottagers’ attack a different dimension with his flair, ball-carrying ability and movement.

Man United, meanwhile, have struggled so far this season, putting Erik ten Hag’s job in danger. Ten Hag has a lot of young forwards in the form of Rasmus Hojlund, Joshua Zirkzee and Ethan Wheatley, so the club can spend time and energy to develop them rather than spend on another young talent in Elias.

It will be intriguing to see what happens with Elias when the transfer window reopens in January. Only time will tell whether the Brazilian youth international gets a chance to seal a move away from Fluminense or not.
